New US ambassador arrives in Slovakia

RODOLPHE M Vallee arrived in Bratislava on August 11 to take up his post as the new US ambassador to Slovakia.

In the coming weeks Vallee will meet with Slovak government officials as well as legislative, business and community leaders to introduce himself and hear their views about current Slovak issues, the US Embassy said in a statement to The Slovak Spectator.

On his arrival Vallee said that he was "pleased to be here representing President Bush and the United States in the Slovak Republic".

"I am humbled to arrive in a country that is the economic marvel of Europe, a beacon of democracy to the world and a great friend to the United States of America," Vallee said in the statement.
