Rusko prepares counterstrike to bolster position

ECONOMY Minister Pavol Rusko intends to present proof that the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) abused the power of the Interior Ministry in the party's efforts to remove Rusko from office, the daily SME reported.

The KDH is demanding Rusko’s recall after the economy minister failed to explain debts exceeding Sk100 million.

Rusko already told the Plus 7 dní weekly that the bills of exchange, signed by Rusko to now-deceased businessman Ľubomír Blaško, were leaked by the police, which is under the Interior Ministry’s jurisdiction. KDH Deputy Chairman Vladimír Palko is in charge of the Interior Ministry.

Rusko said that Blaško, before he died, told him that the police had pressured the businessman to give them compromising information on Rusko.
