MFA sends condolences to victims of Hurricane Katrina

SLOVAK Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan received with sorrow the news of the
extensive damage and loss of lives in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the
most devastating storm to hit the country in decades. The hurricane left
more than 78,000 people in emergency shelters. Hundreds of people are
feared dead.

On behalf of Slovakia, the minister sent a telegram of condolence to US
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice expressing sympathy for the human
casualties and the material damages incurred, the Slovak Foreign Ministry
informed.
