Enel investment plan welcomed

THE NATIONAL privatization agency, the National Property Fund (FNM), expects to approve the strategic investment plan for the power producer Slovenské elektrárne (SE), prepared by Italian company Enel, the SITA news agency wrote.

"The investment plan does not contain any issues of dispute. We are still waiting for answers from the entities concerned, however, we do not expect any problems," FNM spokesperson Tatjana Lesajová told the agency.

At the beginning of September Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš also expressed satisfaction with Enel's investment plan for SE.

"The strategic investment plan for the power producer is concise and very well written. It does not contain any request for public finances, which was one of the conditions for approving this plan," said Mikloš.

The privatization of SE should be completed by the end of December of this year with Enel definitely taking over control of SE as of January 1, 2006 as a 66-percent shareholder.
