Ministry cancels parties' registration

THE INTERIOR Ministry cancelled the registration of 77 political parties in Slovakia. Of 119 parties only 42 remained.

The 77 parties had failed to mail their address and signature to the Interior Ministry, according to the daily Pravda, which obtained the list of parties from the Slovak parliament.

All seven parliamentary parties met their obligation. Those that failed to were mostly very small parties with very little activity.

The Interior Ministry will note that these parties registration was cancelled on October 1, 2005, and they will be permanently erased from the registry on October 15th, 2006.
