Reader feedback: Assertive conservatives

Re: MEP criticizes Slovak gender equality committee chairwoman, Flash News, September 30, 2005

It seems that certain people have problems understanding that many women in Central Europe are capable of being quite assertive as individuals and yet believe that this can be combined with the traditional family.

Ms in 't Veld [Dutch MEP], clings to a sinister, intolerant and dogmatic view that the role of a women's forum is to promote an inverted theology of militant sisterhood that seeks to enforce politically correct norms.

She assumes that there is one "correct" interpretation of what she would no doubt term "interpersonal" relationships and that Christians in Central Europe should just enforce this policy at national level without question.
