THE CONSTRUCTION of the so-called Korean village near the village of Krasňany, where the employees of the KIA carmaker will live, was temporarily halted because of a missing amendment to the municipal area plan, the daily SME wrote.
Krasňany mayor Jozef Trnka says that the construction works were going on without the necessary permits. He says that the amendment to the area plan must first be prepared and then approved by municipal representatives.
"Only then can the construction permit be issued. The works will continue only when everything is in line with the law," he told the daily, though he was not able to say when the necessary documents would be available.
Eighty-five new flats for middle and senior KIA managers will be built in an area of nine hectares. A private security service will guard the area, according to the daily.
