Omnicom Media Group expands globally, Slovakia included

MARKETING communication company Omnicom Group has begun a global expansion of its media agency network, the PHD network, across Asia Pacific, continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In most markets the expansion will be completed by early 2006.

In late 2005 / early 2006 the expansion of Omnicom Group and PHD network will also take in Slovakia. Apart from PHD, Omnicom will also cover the OMD media agency network and other regional and local agencies.

"Establishing PHD in Slovakia will give us access to new sources and tools of Omnicom. It will also enable us to use the services of an alternative media network according to the individual needs of our clients. No matter whether a client opts to work with OMD or the new PHD, we will enable all our clients to fully benefit from sources and media buying position of Omnicom Media Group," said Marcela Podoláková, CEO of OMD Slovakia.

Omnicom is a leading global advertising, marketing and corporate communications company. The company's branded networks and numerous specialty firms provide advertising, strategic media planning and buying, direct and promotional marketing, public relations and other specialty communications services to over 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries.

OMD has a turnover of more than $20 billion (€16.7 billion) and a market share of 8.8 percent, and is one of the leading global media agencies. In has 140 branches in 80 countries and provides media strategy, planning and purchasing services.a provides services for more than 40 clients.

PHD was established in London in 1990. It reached a turnover of $5.2 billion (€4.3 billion) last year.
