SLOVAK plant of Whirlpool in Poprad posted a turnover of Sk8.3 billion (€213 million) in the first nine months of this year.
Of the total sales, just Sk756 million (€19.4 million) worth of washing machines were placed on the Slovak market. The rest of the company's output is exported mainly to other EU states, South Africa, Morocco and Argentina, the Pravda daily wrote.
For 2005, Whirlpool Slovakia plans a turnover of Sk13 billion (€333 million). The plant should make 1.8 million washing machines. The capacity of the plant is 2.2 million.
