FRAGMENTS of Memories is an exhibition of tapestries by Gabriela Verešová in Žilina. The artist creates her non-woven textiles using a special technique called "arttex". The basic material is pure wool and during the creative process the artist applies patches of coloured fleece to the base textile. By cutting, braiding and joining the soft pieces into various shapes or compositions she creates wool "paintings", which are first ironed under wet paper and then fixed by a textile machine to the base textile. The exhibition is open between Tuesday and Friday, 9:00 to 17:00, and on Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 to 17:00 until November 27. Tickets cost Sk20.
