EVENTS COUNTRYWIDE

ONE of the best and most in-demand DJs in the world, Dutch DJ Tiesto, plays at a celebration of the first anniversary of SRo3 Radio_FM. This is the only national radio station that offers adequate space to alternative music. The Dutch DJ will play with Slovak Cocodrillz and Sax'n'Jay and Hungarian DJ Corvin Dalek. Tiesto's production reflects the euphoric mood and liberalism of his native country, The Netherlands. The event takes place at the Bratislava's Expo Aréna in Incheba on Viedenská cesta on November 4, starting at 18:00. Tickets cost Sk790 (www.eventim.sk). More info is on www.tiestoceetour.com.

FRAGMENTS of Memories is an exhibition of tapestries by Gabriela Verešová in Žilina. The artist creates her non-woven textiles using a special technique called "arttex". The basic material is pure wool and during the creative process the artist applies patches of coloured fleece to the base textile. By cutting, braiding and joining the soft pieces into various shapes or compositions she creates wool "paintings", which are first ironed under wet paper and then fixed by a textile machine to the base textile. The exhibition is open between Tuesday and Friday, 9:00 to 17:00, and on Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 to 17:00 until November 27. Tickets cost Sk20. Považská galéria umenia (Považie Art Gallery), MR Štefánika 2, Žilina. For more information call 041/5622-522.
