SARIO managed €139 million so far this year

THE SLOVAK Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) managed 28 foreign investment projects in Slovakia in the January to September 2005 period. The value of the investments exceeds €139 million, the SITA news agency wrote.

"The investors will create at least 3,885 jobs and as many as 5,382," said SARIO spokesman Michal Nvota.

The biggest single investment was by an unnamed company from Denmark that deals in plastics and plans to invest €22.5 million in the southern Slovak town of Štúrovo. The firm will create around 70 jobs.

Another major project is by a Korean company operating in the electrical engineering industry, which should employ as many as 1,750 workers in Lednické Rovne.
