The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) reported a loss of Sk2.9 billion (€96.26 million) at the end of August.

It announced on September 12 that this figure did not include differences from the valuation of financial assets or assets and liabilities in foreign currency, which influence NBS equity throughout the year. Losses from that area will affect the NBS economic results as of December 31, 2008.

At the end of August, losses from valuation reduced NBS equity by Sk42.4 billion (€1.407 billion). SITA
