Fuel prices at Slovak gas stations should drop slightly beginning January 6, according to a prediction by the tankovanie.sk webpage on January 5, news wire TASR wrote.
The price of 95-octane petrol should fall by 1 cent to €.980 per litre, while the price of diesel should drop by 5 cents to €1.078 per litre.
The decrease in fuel prices in Slovakia is linked to lower prices for oil products between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Slovakia is thus evening out its prices with other countries in the region.
This slightly delayed decrease in prices has been caused by the transfer of payment systems at Slovak gas stations in connection with the euro introduction and the drawing of final balances, according to the website, wrote TASR.
