President Ivan Gašparovič has appointed Igor Štefanov as Slovakia's new minister for construction and regional development.
Štefanov is currently the general director of the Construction Ministry's Regional Development Support Agency.
He replaces Marian Janušek, who resigned on Tuesday, April 14, after the ministry was found to have violated the Public Procurement Act in awarding a controversial €120-million contract. TASR, SITA
