Military forests director sacked after accidental killing of colleague

Defence Ministry State Secretary Daniel Duchoň, deputised to serve for Minister Jaroslav Baška who is on holiday,dismissed Military Forests director Štefan Drozd the TASR newswire was told by ministry spokesman Vladimír Gemela on August 6. “According to the initial findings it was a tragic accident,” said Banská Bystrica police spokesperson Petra Vašková immediately following the incident at the Lešť military training ground. Duchoň has delegated Ján Jurica to head the Military Forests. TASR
