CONCERT:A BREATH of Russia will blow across five Slovak towns from August 31 to September 6, as the country will once again host the State Academy Ensemble of the Russian Ministry of Interior. The concerts in Terchová, Bratislava, Poprad, Košice and Banská Bystrica will feature an added attraction as the 120-member troupe will be supported by a popular local band, Desmod. Presentations of Russian “classics” such as Katyusha, Kalinka or Svyashchennaya Voyna will thus feature an extra voice, that of Desmod’s leader, Kuly. The Russian ensemble will also perform some of Desmod’s hits. Tickets cost between €15 and €42, but the Bratislava concert is free.
