Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico meets NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at Government Office this morning (Thursday, October 22).

Fico and Rasmussen will discuss NATO operations abroad, possible strengthening of Slovakia's military presence in Afghanistan, preparations for a new NATO Strategic Blueprint, the alliance's policies vis-a-vis the Balkans, and relations between NATO and the EU, and NATO and Russia.

Rasmussen is making his first official visit to Slovakia for of an informal meeting of NATO defence ministers being held in Bratislava today and tomorrow (22 and 23 October).
