EU to fund signing for bureaucrats

OVER 200 bureaucrats working in regional and state administration will learn sign language as part of a European Education Academy project supported by the EU’s Education operational programme, the TASR newswire reported.

The aim of the project, Basics of Communication with Hearing Disabilities, is to increase the communication skills of people working in the area of the integration of citizens with special educational needs into society. The project should be carried out in the Slovak regions by the end of 2012 and was assigned over €143,000 in funds.
