The Slovak Transport Ministry and the company Slovenské Diaľnice, a.s., has agreed on the price, method of refinancing, and dates for construction of D1 highway sections between Martin and Prešov within the first package of public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
Following this stage, known as business close, the financial close is expected to be made by April 30 of this year, Transport Minister Ľubomír Vážny said after a cabinet session on Wednesday, March 31, the SITA newswire reported.
The cabinet approved his proposal of a fourth annex to the concession agreement for construction and operation of the northern part of the D1 highway. The minister should now sign the fourth annex by April 23. According to an analysis of the impacts of the project on public finances, the government is forecast to pay the concessionaire €9.128 billion over the 30-year duration of the concession instead of the €7.8 billion previously estimated.
