Merchants complain about new laws

LEGISLATION approved recently in the commercial sector not only complicates the lives of merchants but also has a negative impact on consumers and groups targeted for protection by these laws. LEGISLATION approved recently in the commercial sector not only complicates the lives of merchants but also has a negative impact on consumers and groups targeted for protection by these laws. This is the opinion of representatives of the Commerce and Tourism Association (ZOCR), the SITA newswire reported.

The merchants affiliated to ZOCR particularly rebuked Slovak lawmakers for adopting legislation in fast-tracked procedures, thereby omitting industry experts from discussion of the proposals. Such laws deform the business environment or harm and handicap certain groups of entrepreneurs, ZOCR stated.

The association was specifically commenting on new laws covering inappropriate conditions in business relations and foodstuff packaging.
