Slovakia’s last match before the World Cup in ice hockey with Latvia on Monday, May 4, did not show much effort and efficiency on the Slovak side, in the opinion of the Sme daily. Though it resembled the previous match from a day earlier, it lacked the impressive finish that gave the Slovaks a win on Sunday.

On Monday, the Slovak team lost 0:2 to Latvia in what the Sme daily called a feeble performance, writing that if the team does not improve before the championship, they might not advance even to the next round. Coach Glen Hanlon will announce the final line-up on Wednesday, May 5, Sme wrote on its website.
