The coach of the Slovak football team, Vladimír Weiss, has presented the final selection of 23 players for the team that will represent Slovakia during its first-ever World Cup appearance in South Africa this month.

The coach of the Slovak football team, Vladimír Weiss, has presented the final selection of 23 players for the team that will represent Slovakia during its first-ever World Cup appearance in South Africa this month.

According to the Sme daily, there are two players from the Slovak league in the team, Karol Kopúnek from Spartak Trnava and Kornel Saláta from Slovan Bratislava. Saláta scored Slovakia’s only goal in the preparation match with Cameroon last week in Klagenfurt, which finished with a tie 1:1.

The list of names features players from various European leagues, including Polish, German, Dutch and Czech teams.
