The regular Wednesday cabinet session will not be held on June 2. Prime Minister Robert Fico has cancelled it to visit flood-hit regions of Slovakia instead. "I asked all those involved government departments to take all possible steps to support towns and villages," Fico said, the SITA newswire reported.
He also asked representatives of state material reserves, the armed forces and the firefighters’ and rescue corps for a short meeting on coordination of rescue works. According to the prime minister, the situation is most serious in the village of Maňa in south-west Slovakia.
