JUDGE Jozef Soročina of the Michalovce District Court, who was often called a protégé of Supreme Court President Stefan Harabin, is retiring from his post, the Sme daily reported on its website.

JUDGE Jozef Soročina of the Michalovce District Court, who was often called a protégé of Supreme Court President Stefan Harabin, is retiring from his post, the Sme daily reported on its website.

“He announced the news to us today at the meeting,” the daily wrote, quoting Martin Stretavský, one of the Michalovce court judges.

Soročina did not comment on his retirement or his reasons for doing so. Sme wrote that he is leaving shortly after change in the government and only one day after a meeting between court presidents and outgoing Justice Minister Viera Petrikova.
