Retail sales in Slovakia returned to year-on-year growth in June. According to data from the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic, retail sales rose by one percent y/y to €1.471 billion in June. It was the highest y/y increase since the end of 2008.
In May, retail sales were 3.1 percent y/y lower than a year earlier. The wholesale sector maintained y/y growth for the fifth straight month, when sales in June went up 3.1 percent to €1.972 billion, the SITA newswire wrote.
