Ivana Štefancová, the marketing manager of Lyoness Slovakia sees efforts to save money behind the high popularity of last-minute trips because the price of such holidays is often much lower than the original price and thus many Slovaks are willing to wait for such offers.

In Slovakia Croatia is dubbed "Slovakia’s sea". Last year, travel agencies took almost 112,000 Slovaks to Croatia on organised trips. The total number of Slovaks spending their holiday in Croatia is much higher because many Slovaks travel to this Mediterranean country on their own.
