A CONCERT held on August 22 in the town of Smolenice in western Slovakia was the culmination of the eighth year of the charity campaign called On Wheels against Cancer/Na kolesách proti rakovine that is organised by the Slovak Paralympics Committee in honour of Radovan Kaufman who won the track cycling event at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney and subsequently died of cancer.

Before the concert, participants took symbolical rides on anything that had wheels but no engine, contributing to the fight against cancer with both sport and exercise. The concert itself gave the stage to artists like Dominika Mirgová, Lazaro, Robo Opatovský, Monika Bagarová, Zdenka Predná, bands Domi, Campana Batucada, Žena z lesoparku, Vidiek, Aya, as well as dance groups TK Elegance and Swing, the SITA newswire wrote.

The concert and events around it such as a cycling simulator, rowing simulator, the symbolic rides on wheels, and a programme for children were hosted by Dominika Mirgová and Richard Hergott.

The whole campaign managed to highlight the threat of cancer, raise funds, and demonstrate that an active approach can make wonders everywhere and anytime.
