THE EXHIBITION Príbehy / Stories displays a choice of works by Vladimír Balko from the last four years. His drawings and paintings depict people resembling figures from the traditional medieval commedia dell’arte. Balko’s creation focuses on human beings and their fates, while enjoying simple play on line, space and colour. LIVE MUSIC: The Best of Pressburger Klezmer Band – This popular band, which plays klezmer, central-European Jewish music, celebrates its 15th birthday with a concert and the launch of a new CD.

FILM FESTIVAL: MAFF 2010 – The Music and Film Festival is a new phenomenon in Slovakia that combines the two genres, mainly through movies about music, and music documentaries. It takes place in three venues: Palace Cinemas Eurovea, the Mladosť movie theatre, and the Culture House Zrkadlový háj.

MUSIC FESTIVAL: Konvergencie 2010 – The 11th year of the Convergences music festival takes place at different venues and brings different musical genres: from Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble - Officum Novum to classical and chamber music (Bach, Bartók, Berger; Dvořák, Shostakovich) to jazz, rock (Juraj Griglák, Bez ladu a skladu) to a fusion of Renaissance singing (John Potter) and electronic music (Ambrose Field).

EXHIBITION: 45 FORTYFIVE – This exhibition project shows a new collection of works by Dušan Junek designed specifically for the occasion.

EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK: Within this continent-wide mobility initiative, events have been organised such as exhibitions, presentations, closure of a street to vehicles and its opening solely for pedestrians, screening of old documentaries on Monday, a workshop about integrating cycle routes on Tuesday, and the highlight – on World Car-Free Day, on Wednesday – a bicycle parade. EMW is organised at various places in Žilina.

PUPPET FESTIVAL: Bábkarska Bystrica 2010, Dvojitý impulz / The Puppet-Makers' Bystrica 2010, Double Impulse festival aims to entertain both children and adults. One of the events of the First Impulse, meant for children, is the Big Mechanical Theatre attraction by France’s Companie de l’Echelle, and another is the Dotkni sa tanca na krídlach draka, improvised dance by the local Štúdio tanca.

BOTANICAL EXHIBITION: Dravci v ríši rastlín / Predators of the Plant Kingdom is an exhibition of about 100 carnivorous plants representing 40 species .

FOR THE first time in Košice, the famous Hungarian inter-media artist István Csakány shows his unique creations, influenced by his work in construction. They are on display in the Make Up Gallery, a newly renovated exhibition space .
