Figel appoints new heads of National Highway Company and Public Ports

Transport Minister Ján Figeľ (Christian Democratic Movement) has appointed new chief executive officers for the National Highway Company (NDS) and Public Ports, effective on Monday, September 20, ministry spokesman Martin Krajčovič told the TASR newswire. The new head of NDS is Alan Sitár who was previously active as a consultant for foreign investors at Capital Partners Consulting. The former NDS general director, Igor Choma, was recalled in July shortly after Figeľ assumed the post of Transport Minister. Choma was elected as a member of parliament from the Smer party in the June election.

Juraj Pavelek was installed at the helm of Public Ports. Pavelek has been active in water transport for years in positions such as general director of the former Czechoslovak Danube Navigation and Czechoslovak Labe Navigation.
