Yura Corporation Slovakia, with home office in South Korea, will open a new branch in Slovakia in Pravenec in Trenčín region and is already looking for staff, the TASR newswire reported. The cable-bundle producer for Kia which already has assembly plants in Prievidza wants to employ another 250 people.
Jozef Stopka, the Director of the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Office in Prievidza told TASR that the company launched recruitment of new employees on October 6. The first 140 people should be hired within two weeks. Yura Corporation Slovakia started production in Slovakia in 2006 and it currently employs 5,000 people.
TASR wrote that the South Korean company has recently been accused by its employees of bullying and using unlawful workplace practices such as requiring overly long shifts in their assembly plants in Rimavská Sobota and Hnúšťa in Banská Bystrica region. The management of the company has denied the accusations.
