Slovakia apparently doesn’t need to have a coast in order to learn how to tame the wild Croatian waves. The Slovak team FYC Slovakia Bank & Sailing Team won this years’ Championship in Croatia, the “Zadarski Cup” 2010, which ended on November 8.
“This victory pleased us because this year's competitors were really strong,” the skipper of the Quebramaru, Peter Mosný, told the TASR newswire. ”With this triumph in the Croatia Cup we finished the season; the boat will winterise in our home port and we are returning home.”
The elite Quebramar ship, whose name in Portuguese means 'sea-breaker', triumphed in the long-term terrestrial crew competition consisting of six races. As many as 34 teams from Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy and Austria competed in the race, TASR reported.
