Third Mochovce reactor to be connected to the power grid in late 2012

The third reactor block of the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant (EMO) should be connected to the power grid on December 30, 2012, the SITA newswire has reported. The block is currently being constructed; the fourth unit will be completed eight months later.

The third reactor block of the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant (EMO) should be connected to the power grid on December 30, 2012, the SITA newswire has reported. The block is currently being constructed; the fourth unit will be completed eight months later.

Construction of the third reactor block is planned to last a total of 50 months and the fourth unit 58 months, SITA wrote. During construction, a minimum of 3,500 jobs will be created, and after the project's completion 350 permanent positions will remain. The highest number of people, 4,000, will work on the site in 2012.
