Police continue to hunt for the gunman who murdered prominent Slovak lawyer Ernest Valko on November 8. So far, according to our sources, the case is being treated as a robbery gone wrong.

A bill that has been submitted to parliament by a group of ruling coalition MPs would narrow room for corruption in public procurement .

It looks like the New York Times was only scratching the surface in last week’s article about the abuse of eurofunds in Slovakia. Since then, the Labour Ministry has come forward with new revelations of waste under former minister Viera Tomanová, including thousands of euros spent on pointless and even fraudulent re-education projects.
