Nominations for third Gypsy Spirit award open today

Nominations will open for the third Gypsy Spirit award, which celebrates the work of those trying to improve the situation of Roma in Slovakia today, Friday March 18. The aim of the project is to create a public platform to recognise work within the Roma community which could also serve to motivate other entities to become involved in projects contributing to complex, effective and long-term solution of the Roma community's issues.

Nominations will open for the third Gypsy Spirit award, which celebrates the work of those trying to improve the situation of Roma in Slovakia today, Friday March 18. The aim of the project is to create a public platform to recognise work within the Roma community which could also serve to motivate other entities to become involved in projects contributing to complex, effective and long-term solution of the Roma community's issues.

The deadline for submitting nominations is April 18, 2011. Nominations can be submitted online at www.gypsyspirit.eu or via the website of the Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Government for the Roma Community, www.vlada.gov.sk. The results will be announced at an awards ceremony on May 23, 2011.
