Thousands of Košice fans celebrate their ice hockey champion

Thousands of fans on Saturday evening, April 9, attended a celebration at the Košice Steel Arena in honour of their ice hockey team’s victorious season in this year's Slovak league, the TASR newswire reported. The Košice ice hockey team clinched their sixth championship in the competition's history and their third in a row.

The Košice ice hockey team clinched their sixth championship in the competition's history and their third in a row.

The show of appreciation, lasting about four hours, also featured some well-known showbiz faces, such as bands Nocadeň, IMT SMILE, Reverz Park, Marián Čekovský & Band & GFB, singer Zuzana Smatanová, and a crew of cheerleaders and dancers.

Earlier on Saturday the team was received by Košice mayor Richard Raši.
