EU will cover 85 percent of costs of a section of the D3 motorway

The European Commission will cover 85 percent of the costs that were incurred in constructing the D3 motorway section between Hričovské Podhradie and Žilina Strážov in Žilina Region), the TASR newswire reported. The construction of this section was completed in 2008 at a cost €80 million. "The statement of approval means that the European Union will refund €67.5 million of the total costs of the project. The rest is covered by the state budget," said Alena Vaškaninová Buchláková from the Transport Ministry project management department.
