PROSECUTOR Dana Zlehovcová from Levice will face criminal proceedings after she was charged with accepting a bribe and abuse of her official powers, the Sme daily reported.

Zlehovcová allegedly asked for €20,000 to stop an investigation into loan-sharking. The daily wrote that she was seen accepting €5,000 and that she had also shown an investigatory file prepared by one of her colleagues to a person who had no right to see it.

A judge of the Specialised Criminal Court in Banská Bystrica ruled that the prosecutor would not be taken into custody before her trial. If convicted, she could face five to 12 years in prison, Sme wrote.
