Number of Slovaks receiving unemployment benefits falls slightly in September

The number of Slovaks receiving unemployment benefits stood at almost 41,300 in September, down by 300 from August, the SITA newswire reported.

The number of Slovaks receiving unemployment benefits stood at almost 41,300 in September, down by 300 from August, the SITA newswire reported.

Compared with the same month in 2010, the number of people receiving unemployment benefits was 2,100 higher.

Slovakia’s social security provider, Sociálna Poisťovňa, paid out unemployment benefits to an average of 43,100 individuals per month during the first six months of this year, SITA wrote.
