MARTIN Ilavský has replaced Michal Gučík as director of the private TA3 TV news channel, the SITA newswire reported.

Ilavský leaves his current position as general director of Slovenská Grafia, a member of Grafobal Group, which like TA3 is controlled by businessman Ivan Kmotrík. Ilavský said his appointment was a statement of trust and that he regards the job as a great responsibility.

He told SITA that he will concentrate on the commercial side of TA3's operations and not on changing the news station's programme structure.
