AIRCRAFT from 12 NATO member states joined an international air training exercise, MACE XIII, based at Sliač airbase near Banská Bystrica on Monday, April 16. The exercise will continue until April 27, the TASR newswire reported.
“This is the largest military air exercise since Slovakia joined NATO [in 2004],” said the commander of Slovakia’s air military forces, Martin Babiak, as quoted by TASR.
The exercise involves practicing air-to-air combat using Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft.
