Jazz Birthday Party – Slovak musicians Oskar Rózsa, Martin Valihora and Eugen Vizváry will play on a boat on the Danube River, first with the RetroACT Experience project based on a groove/acid jazz/funk/soul mixture. Súkromné životy / Private Lives – This Slovak/German co-production (1990), by renowned director Dušan Hanák (who garnered several awards, mostly for short films, but also for feature films), about the fate of two step-sisters, will be screened with English subtitles.

Dni taliansko-slovenského priateľstva / Italian-Slovak Friendship Days - The international festival will last until September; and this first part includes two seminars (on Italian context of M. R. Štefánik and on Ancient Rome's touches in Slovakia), an exhibition in the Slovak Radio building, two benefit concerts of young Slovak and Italian opera singers (one of them taking place on July 27 at 19:00 in the Main Square) and a mass on July 29 at 12:00 in St Martin's Cathedral, celebrated by Apostolic nuncio in Slovakia, Monsignor Mario Giordana.

Kamil Varga - Kristove roky / Crucial Years + Max de Esteban - Elegies of Manu-mission – Two exhibitions in the Central European House of Photography present more abstract works by Varga, a Slovak, and portraits by de Esteban, a Spaniard.

T.R.J.O.F. Tour 2012 – Slovak musicians T.R.J.O.F, Mirka Partlová, the Neosolium String Quartet and Tomáš Ducký are touring 30 Slovak castles and mansions with songs like Caruso, Con Te Partiro, Notre Dame, Romeo & Julia, Rodná zem and also pieces from the repertoire of Sting, Lara Fabian, and Andrea Bocelli.

Banská Bystrica
Outbreak 8 Hip Hop Festival – Outbreak 8 is a world-format event, the finals of which take place outside the USA for the fist time in 9 years: in two venues in Banská Bystrica. Festival offers all four elements of hip-hop culture – MC-ing, DJ-ing, graffiti-writing and B-boying (breakdancing). Professionals from more than 50 countries will perform here.

Solitude – A night recital for Baroque cello without basso continuo, organised on the 262nd anniversary of the death of Johann Sebastian Bach, put together from his works and the works of his contemporaries (Gabrielli, Galli, Dall’Abaco) and contemporary composers (Godár). The works are performed by young Slovak cellist Michal Sťahel.
