BLAF 2012 - THE Bratislava Art Festival 2012 – is an event offering a wide range of concerts (such as the opening Business Leaders Rock’n’Roll Band, Billy Barman and Chiki liki-tua on Oct 5), workshops, debates, meetings with artists, film-music-art performances, guided tours, lectures, discussions, the Crazycurators Biennale, and more. Between October 4 and 7 the public can visit 19 various galleries and sites in Bratislava to enjoy the 3rd year of the festival, which is free of charge. OPERA:
Maria Theresia – The world premiere of the Austrian composer Roland Baumgartner’s three-act, German-language opera is preceded by a matinée to offer a taste of the neo-romantic work. The opera is conducted by Paul Maffray, who also arranged its musical composition, and directed by Laco Adamik.

A debate on Iranian traditional music will be followed by a concert by the Ashtee Ensemble, which also plays Kurdish and Turkish music. Songs are arranged for an ensemble of five, and the dominant vocals of Sahar Lotfi will be accompanied by traditional Persian instruments and a piano.
