Former national football coach Galis to become government proxy for youth and sports

Dušan Galis, former coach of the Slovak national football team and government proxy for youth and sports under the first government of Robert Fico, will be appointed to the same post on Thursday, November 15, the government decided on Wednesday.

Dušan Galis, former coach of the Slovak national football team and government proxy for youth and sports under the first government of Robert Fico, will be appointed to the same post on Thursday, November 15, the government decided on Wednesday.

Galis was nominated for the post by Prime Minister Robert Fico. His task will be to coordinate and initiate activities linked to the preparation of concept documents, legislation, football and ice hockey infrastructure, as well as preparing a new system of sports management. The agenda should also concern attempts to link the sphere of sports to health care, the social sphere, tourism and the prevention of negative societal influences (e.g. drugs).
