Lidl is top internet advertiser of 2012

THE RETAIL chain Lidl was the biggest purchaser of advertising on websites in Slovakia last year. Based on the findings of TNS Slovakia’s monitoring activities of Slovak internet users on 2,650 websites, Lidl topped the list, followed by Slovak Telekom, Markíza – Slovakia and Kraft Foods Slovakia. Telefónica Slovakia placed fifth and Centrum Holdings came in sixth. Fashion Days shopping placed seventh, followed by Petit Press, Orange Slovensko and Tatra Banka, TNS Slovakia wrote in its press release in mid March.

Data reported for 115 web portals, i.e. websites bringing information together from diverse sources in a uniform way, indicated that these portals presented more than 518,000 banners over 2012. In total, 72 percent of all banners placed in 2012 were placed on the 15 biggest web portals. About 21 percent of all banners can be considered to be self-promotional.
