CONCERT:
TWO great jazz personalities, guitarist Al Di Meola and pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, have embarked on a joint tour, and on November 15 they will perform in Bratislava, in the Big Slovak Radio Concert Studio at Mýtna 1. Rubalcaba will play a Fazioli piano transported from Vienna. The two top jazz players have recently recorded the album “Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody”. Noc divadiel / Night of Theatres – This event draws people to theatre houses who seldom visit them, offering a host of performances including puppet theatre, folklore, a brief workshop on stage and costume design, dance performances and a rehearsal of classical ballet to jazz music (in the Slovak National Theatre). Other cities are also participating in this event: Banská Bystrica, Bátovce, Košice, Ma-rtin, Nitra, Prešov, Prievidza, Trnava, Zvolen and Žilina.

Jonathan Crossley Guitar Trio – Crossley, a cyber-guitarist from South Africa, joins forces with Czech bassist Lukáš Kytnar and South-African drummer Justin Badenhorst. Their Czecho-Slovak tour will bring their brand of jazz-rock music to Bratislava.

Two Russian-focused concerts of the Slovak Philharmonic and Canadian-Ukrainian pianist Dmitry Levkovich, conducted by Daniel Raiskin (who grew up in Saint Petersburg), will bring the works of Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich (including the latter’s Suite to Words by Michelangelo Buonarroti).

EXHIBITION:
MYTOBIBLIA is the name of the recent exhibition of Slovak artist Marek Ormandík, focusing on the perception of ancient mythology and the Bible that forms the basis of European civilisation. His work, relaxed and free, breaks old clichés and stereotypes, and can be seen until November 21 in the U Anjela gallery in Starý Trh 53 in Kežmarok, between 12:00 and 18:00 on Tuesdays to Fridays, and between 10:00 and 13:00 on Saturdays.
