Kúpele Františka Jozefa, Stratený Architektonický Skvost / The Spa of Franz Joseph, the Lost Architectural Gem – This exhibition shows the building in Piešťany that was meant to become the attraction but turned out to be a flop, and was demolished in 1967. This exhibition commemorates the 115th anniversary of the spa named after Emperor Franz Joseph I.

OPERA:
THE DERNIERE, or final performance, of Madam Butterfly, the Puccini opera, in the State Opera at Národná 11 in Banská Bystrica takes place on February 11, at 18:30. The staging, directed by Barbara Klimo, conducted by Marián Vach and performed by Martina Múdra, Radoslava Mičová, Michal Hýrošš, Šimon Svitok and others, shows the clash between Japanese and American cultures, and explores moral values, while offering attractive music and an exotic atmosphere. MUSHING:
European FISTC Championship in Dog Mushing, Medium and Long Track – This weekend, the European Championship in dog-sledding, called mushing, will take place, opening in Banská Bystrica and then moving to the nearby winter resort Králiky. Tracks lead in the Kremnické Vrchy hills, between Králiky and Kordíky.
