SLOVAK experts on the Schengen Area have become part of a commission that is participating in the protection of the US and Mexican border, the SITA newswire reported.

SLOVAK experts on the Schengen Area have become part of a commission that is participating in the protection of the US and Mexican border, the SITA newswire reported.

“It is a great honour,” said Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, as quoted by SITA. “People from the Interior Ministry who deal with Schengen are good examples of quality and preparedness while having many ideas which can be used even at complicated borders existing in Europe or America.”

Kaliňák explained that cooperation also includes technological testing. as Slovakia has adapted several military and industrial technologies for use at the border.

Since March 4, 2014 Slovakia has also been assisting Croatia in preparing its borders before it joins the Schengen Area, according to the TASR newswire.
