Juraj Hroták will spend 18.5 years in prison and Alexandra Hrotáková 14 years for manslaughter. Bratislava Regional Court confirmed on March 4 these original verdicts that were appealed by both defendants. They beat, abused and tortured Luknárová to death, and afterwards hid her body in a rented Bratislava flat for three years, before being discovered by accident, the SITA newswire wrote.

Regional court agreed with the re-qualification of the crime from homicide to manslaughter by the district court, as the intention to kill the girl could not be proven. The original verdict was announced on October 16, 2014, and defendants were convicted of having tortured a close, dependent person. The district court found that Hroták beat Lucka and caused her death, while Hrotáková abused her by denying her personal and health treatment. Her body was found in 2012.
