Slovak Easter traditions resurrected

Easter traditions in Slovakia are about eggs, but also splashing and whipping.

On Easter Monday lads across Slovakia took buckets, filled them with water, often directly from a local brook, and went to houses with girls to splash them. In some regions they also whipped girls with korbáč they made one day before from wicker. In rewards the lads received from girls a ribbon on the korbáč, eggs, cakes and a shot of spirits.
