One in seven choose a job out of desperation

EVERY third person in Slovakia choose his or her job because it was amusing or connected to a hobby, according to Profesia.sk job portal survey cited by the TASR newswire April 16. Others are less lucky.

The Focus polling agency conducted the survey on request of Profesia.sk on 1,064 people. The survey result says that around 15 percent of people choose job just because they wanted to have one. For 28 percent of respondents was fact that job is fun and makes them happy the most decisive criteria in job seeking.

“Most of people preferring job as source of happiness are among people with high education, creative professionals … officers and respondents from Nitra and Košice reagion,” says Profesia.sk website, as quoted by TASR.

The second biggest group of people – around 18 percent - were those who were affected by parents during their deciding about future job.
